TODAY's Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb chat about their holiday weekend plans and take a bite out of an extravagant dish served at New York City's Serendipity 3 restaurant: It includes caviar, a gold-encrusted bun, and a diamond-and-gold toothpick.
On Friday morning, while you were having your coffee, Kathie Lee and Hoda were tucking into a set of $295 sandwiches. Om nom nom nom, breakfast!
New York's Serendipity 3 restaurant was kind enough to let the ladies sample their new "Le Burger Extravagant". It earns its price tag with fancy-pants Wagyu beef infused with 10-herb white truffle butter, topped with caviar, cheese and a fried quail egg, then served on a white truffle-buttered bun and a diamond-encrusted toothpick. It joins a long tradition of expensive Serendipity stunt foods, like the $1000 ice cream sundae and $69 hotdog.

But before you roll your eyes in agony, the proceeds are going to the Bowery Mission, which serves homeless and hungry New Yorkers.
"I just ate eighty dollars," said Hoda, taking a massive bite.
